Ben Jacobsen has been selected as October 2015 USA  Coach of the Month. Ben has been coaching for USA for several years and has truly exemplified the meaning of coach. Not only has Ben taught these boys how to play soccer, but he has filled them with positive feedback and encouragement. USA recognizes Ben for all of the time, energy and countless hours he has put into developing some fine young men. Some of his parents comments are below.

 

"Ben took my son who was broken due to another coach and brought him up. He helped him realize his potential as a goalie and showed him that he is not just a goalie but an integral part of the team. Ben has made my son feel important and brought back his love of the game. This is something a mother can't do - but an amazing coach can!!"

 

"Ben not only takes the time and effort to always be there for the kids but to know each one of them in both aspects; as players and as persons which has helped to develop better players and better PEOPLE. Besides that, as coach, Ben is always looking for new ideas on how to train them, always looking for fairplay, takes the time to know the oponent teams and designs a game based on his learnings. Ben is a great coach, huge thanks to him for coaching the team!"

 

"In my opinion, Coach Ben exemplifies the label of "coach."  Not only does he volunteer countless hours to teach his players how to improve their soccer skills and to work together as a team to find success, he teaches them to have positive attitudes, to work hard, and to show respect for others and for the beautiful game of soccer.  He does this in a way that allows his players to enjoy playing soccer and to grow to love the sport.  I am most impressed with Coach Ben when I see him lifting up a player or his team after a discouragement such as a missed play or a lost game.  His players love to play for him."

 

"Ben is extremely patient with the boys and keeps a calm and cool composure even in stressful moments. He is very knowledgable about the game and is a positive mentor for these boys.
